Everything you need to nail the take
Below is the real OneTake — the exact app you get after buying, running live in your browser. Open it fullscreen and try it, then read how each part works.
Not a screenshot — the actual app. Click a Regionscard in the picker to try 2.1’s record-for-Reels flow. On a phone, open fullscreen and turn to landscape.
New in 2.1.0
Region capture with ready-to-upload formats, the camera as a source, and a bubble that pins to — or fills — the region. All of it is in the live app above.
Record a region of your screen
Draw a rectangle on any display and record only that. A thin frame — solid, dashed or dotted, in your colour — shows where the edges are and never appears in the file. Move the region while you record and the video follows.
Ready-to-upload formats
Pick 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok — or 16:9, 1:1 and 4:5 — right in the picker. OneTake frames the recording in that shape as it records, so nothing is cropped or thrown away afterwards.
Your camera, pinned or filling
With a region armed, the camera bubble sits in its corner and moves with it. Fill region makes the bubble the region itself — and you can switch it mid-take: a talking-head Reel, then back to the screen, without editing.
Record your camera directly
Choose a camera as the source and record it at the camera's own frame rate, no screen involved. Mirror my camera decides which way round you appear, for the bubble and a camera recording alike.
Decide how a move lands
Instant follows your hand, Glide eases the recording over in one smooth pan, Snap cuts to it. Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Arrows nudge the region from the keyboard, mid-take too.
Sound and picture in step
Takes now begin on their first frame in every player — Windows' own included — and snipped exports keep every piece in sync.
Snip mistakes the moment they happen
Shrink to a slim pill when you want to disappear
Run the whole take from the keyboard
Every action has a global hotkey, so you never tab back to OBS mid-recording. Watch the overlay react as each shortcut fires — and rebind any of them to your own muscle memory.
The rest of what OneTake does
You just used all of this in the app above — here it is in one glance.
Non-destructive snips
Every snip is a marked cut, not a deleted frame. Nudge or clear any cut before you commit — nothing is lost until you export.
Ghost Mode
Keep the overlay on your screen but out of your recording. Hide it from OBS and screen shares, frosted and click-through.
Cut-aware preview
Watch your take back with every snip skipped automatically, so you review the finished cut — not the raw recording.
One file, or an EDL
Export a single merged file with your cuts applied, or an EDL in JSON, CMX3600, FCPXML or Premiere/Resolve XML for any editor.
Native on every desktop
Windows, macOS and Linux, with background updates on Windows and Linux. Your license covers two devices, managed from your dashboard.
Local-first privacy
Everything — capture, snips, preview, export — happens on your machine. Your recordings never leave it unless you choose to share them.
Standalone recording
Record your screen and mic with zero setup — no OBS required. Built for demos, tutorials and talking over your work; OBS mode stays the pro path for gameplay, full-screen video and multi-source scenes.
Camera picture-in-picture
A draggable, resizable camera bubble over your recording — card, square or circle — so talking-head tutorials need nothing but OneTake.
Where OneTake is headed
In active development right now. Buy once today and your first year of updates delivers these as they land — no upgrade fee, no new tier.
AI auto-snip — fully local
Silences, "um"s and filler words detected on your machine and proposed as cuts you approve. No cloud, no upload — your audio never leaves your computer.
Edit by transcript
A local transcript synced to your timeline: delete a sentence in text and the video skips it. Export captions as SRT or VTT.
Share links
Upload a finished take and send a link — with your snips applied at playback. Strictly opt-in per video; local-first stays the default.
You've tried it — now make it yours
That was the real app, not a demo reel. When it's what you want, buy once and download it for your own OBS setup.
